Scope
Berrigan Shire Council engaged O’LEX Civil to complete the rehabilitation of the causeway on the Barooga-Cobram Road between Bullangiyna Bridge and Peoples Bridge approx. 1km of road was to be stabilised and resealed in Asphalt.
Challenge
The road links the border towns of Barooga and Cobram over the Murray River with more than 5,000 vehicles passing everyday, and the next nearest river crossing was Tocumwal almost 20kms away, the project required a full closure of a single lane for the full length of the project and then flip for the other lane.
Solution
Careful planning, a lot of community engagement along with a well-executed traffic management plan let to the successful construction of this project well ahead of time and on budget.
