Scope
Benalla Rural City Council engaged O’LEX Civil to
complete the replacement of the culvert
crossing on Kilfeera Road at Upper Ryans Creek.
Challenge
The project was to be constructed in a waterway
during May which presented a risk of rainfall
disruptions, also the original outfall drop
structure had to remain and incorporate the
new concrete pipes into it. Deep excavations
were another constraint on this project.
Solution
O’LEX’s crew had a clear plan and were able to
seamlessly blend the old structure with the new
1050mm concrete pipes and upstream
headwall. Also a specific imported clay,
geofabric and beaching design was followed
upstream and downstream of the culvert
structure.
